History

In recent decades we have seen an increasing involvement of organized civil society in taking significant co-responsibility for cultural institutions – including museums – in order to help achieve the fulfillment of their objectives and goals. The role played by patronage in the form of a Board of Trustees is essential to guarantee continuity in the mission of the institution, but Boards of Trustees also help to sustain it and work towards the creation of national and international support networks. The Patronato Fondo de Arte Contemporáneo (MUAC Board of Trustees) began its work in September 2012, supporting the University Museum of Contemporary Art in achieving its objectives. Since its inception, the Board of Trustees has designed strategies aimed at obtaining financial and in-kind resources to benefit the MUAC’s programs, exhibitions, collections, and activities.
